Ministries started by Teams to the Nations
Care on the Square
Sue and Tom Wagner of Cuyahoga Valley Church began this ministry in downtown Cleveland during the holiday season of 2005 as an outreach to the homeless. What began as simply offering coffee to people on Public Square has developed into a gathering of at least 30 people twice a week. Volunteers gather Wednesday and Saturday mornings at CVC to organize and prepare food donations from local grocers and individuals.
With an emphasis on building relationships - not just meeting a physical need - volunteers then distribute the food downtown to those in need. Each week the provision of food and the love of Christ bring many new and familiar faces. Many have come into relationship with Christ because of this ministry and, to help meet the need for spiritual teaching, CVC now offers transportation to their Sunday morning services.
Ghana Farm Project
Teams to the Nations purchased 100 acres of farmland in an effort to create income and offer hope to local families. We will hire and train local Ghanaians to manage the platation. A section of the land is developed into a palm nut plantation that will produce palm oil, which will be sold to generate revenue back into the local economy. We have pinapple also being produced. There is about 6 acres along the the main road and fronting on the Atlantic Ocean where we are going to build our own school, church and misson center.
Ghana Seminary
Two years ago, Teams to the Nations and the Ghana Baptist Convention partnered to build a school for local pastors. The seminary prepares pastors to plant new congregations by offering classes taught by local and foreign pastors and professors. In the future, TTTN hopes the school will both plant many churches and itsef grow into a more diverse ministry to the community.
